Our Kickstarter campaign is now fully funded! That means that the Forge, our miniature customisation and 3D print ordering app is on the way! We’ve also begun unlocking some fantastic stretch goals, including new customisable character kits and new Forge features. We’re not resting on our laurels though, and our team is already hard at work planning for what comes next.
As per the goal of our Kickstarter, the Forge is being developed for a projected launch date of March 2022, but we have a whole bunch of other ways to collect Dragon’s Forge miniatures in the pipeline that will be winging their way to you before then. Let’s take a look!
The Store
While our ultimate aim is to make our customisable digital miniature kits the core focus of Dragon’s Forge, we want to put the work of our talented sculptors into the hands of tabletop gamers and hobbyists as soon as possible. We also want to give you the option of collecting pre-designed miniatures if customisation isn’t your thing.
To that end, one of the first ways you’ll be able to collect Dragon’s Forge miniatures is via our own online store, launching Q4 2021 – yep, that’s pretty soon! The store will feature all of the characters from our current Kickstarter campaign in various curated poses and part combinations that we know you’re going to love, plus even more characters, monsters and mind-blowing centrepieces that are already in development. It’s going to be a treasure trove of fantasy miniatures like no other!
Patreon
That’s right - Dragon’s Forge is coming to Patreon! For a modest monthly subscription fee, you’ll be able to download a host of pre-supported STL files for all manner of fantasy miniatures, starting with a collection that you may already have seen plundering some of our early social media posts – pirates! These swashbuckling curs will be followed in subsequent months by an endless cavalcade of themed collections that will allow you to assemble a horde of miniatures perfect for all kinds of roleplaying and tabletop gaming across a variety of settings and systems.
Our Patreon will launch early in 2022 with a welcome pack featuring a stunning collection of adventurers, a loyalty scheme and some absolutely wild centrepiece models. Later, when we launch the Forge, we’ll be adding a whole new subscription tier that will allow patrons to fully customise their monthly miniature collection and benefit from fantastic discounts on high quality 3D prints. Now that’s something to get excited about!
The Marketplace
We’ve talked about the Forge, the store and our Patreon; rounding things off is the Dragon’s Forge marketplace, where digital sculptors will be able to host their work and sell high quality 3D prints to a wider audience. Partners and customers alike will benefit from our finely tuned printing and mail order system, giving collectors and hobbyists access to a world of exciting miniatures that, until now, may only have been an option for those with their own 3D printers at home.
As you can see, the future is looking bright indeed (and not just because the Forgemaster’s minions have been shovelling glow-stone into the cosmic furnace again). We can’t wait for what comes next, and you can keep up to date with all the latest developments right here on the blog, on our social media feeds and via the Dragon’s Forge newsletter.
